The Department of Neurology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai is seeking a full-time Neuro-Oncology faculty member to join the expanding Neuro-Oncology Program within the Mount Sinai Health System.
This position includes inpatient and outpatient neuro-oncology responsibilities centered primarily at The Mount Sinai Hospital, with potential opportunities for clinical coverage at locations including Mount Sinai West.
The successful candidate will provide care for patients with primary and metastatic CNS tumors and neurologic complications of cancer within a multidisciplinary academic environment. Responsibilities include inpatient neuro-oncology consultation, outpatient brain tumor clinic, collaboration with neurosurgery, radiation oncology, hematology/oncology, neuroradiology, neuropathology, and participation in multidisciplinary CNS tumor care.
The rapidly growing Neuro-Oncology Program at Mount Sinai has one of the largest brain tumor clinical volumes in New York City, with active clinical trials through the Tisch Cancer Institute and expanding multidisciplinary brain tumor programs across the health system. Mount Sinai is also a founding institution of the New York Proton Center.
The Department maintains an active UCNS-accredited Neuro-Oncology Fellowship Training Program and offers substantial teaching opportunities for neurology residents, neuro-oncology fellows, and medical students. Candidates with interest in clinical education, multidisciplinary care, and academic program development are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
Provide inpatient and outpatient neuro-oncology care
Participate in inpatient neuro-oncology consultation services
Collaborate within a multidisciplinary CNS tumor program
Participate in resident, fellow, and medical student education
Contribute to clinical trials and academic initiatives as appropriate
Collaborate with colleagues across the Mount Sinai Health System
Qualifications
Candidates must possess:
MD or DO degree from an accredited institution
Board certification or eligibility in Neurology
Fellowship training in Neuro-Oncology
UCNS board certification or board eligibility in Neuro-Oncology
Eligibility for New York State medical licensure
Ideal candidates will demonstrate excellent clinical skills, professionalism, communication, organizational ability, and a collaborative approach to multidisciplinary neuro-oncology care. Academic rank and compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Compensation range from 250K to 300K (not including bonuses / incentive compensation or benefits)
