Position OverviewAs an Occupational Therapist, you will be responsible for evaluating, planning, implementing, and adjusting individualized treatment plans for patients across outpatient settings. You will utilize your clinical expertise to improve patient function, independence, and quality of life, collaborating closely with physicians, caregivers, and interdisciplinary team members. Supervisory responsibilities include overseeing Occupational Therapist Assistants, Home Health Aides, and students, ensuring adherence to regulatory and organizational standards.
Key Responsibilities - Patient Evaluation: Conduct comprehensive assessments, including formal and informal testing, to determine patient status across neurological, developmental, respiratory, cardiovascular, social, and cognitive domains.
- Treatment Planning & Implementation: Develop evidence-based, goal-oriented treatment plans tailored to patient needs and tolerance levels. Deliver interventions involving modalities, exercises, and adaptive techniques to optimize function and independence.
- Documentation & Compliance: Maintain accurate, timely documentation of assessments, treatment sessions, and patient responses, complying with organizational policies and accreditation standards.
- Patient & Family Education: Educate patients, families, and caregivers about conditions, treatment goals, and home programs, fostering understanding and engagement.
- Supervision & Leadership: Provide supervision for Occupational Therapist Assistants, aides, and students, supporting quality assurance and professional development.
- Equipment & Assistive Devices: Recommend and assist in securing adaptive equipment as needed to facilitate patient progress.
- Community Engagement: Promote occupational therapy services through community outreach and education initiatives.
- Team Collaboration: Participate actively in interdisciplinary team meetings, quality improvement projects, and program development efforts.
- Case Management: Assume case management responsibilities to coordinate care effectively and ensure seamless service delivery.
Qualifications - Current Occupational Therapist license in the State of Michigan.
- Proven clinical experience in outpatient or similar settings is preferred.
- Strong assessment, clinical reasoning, and intervention skills.
- Excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and related clinical documentation systems.

Compensation & Benefits - Competitive Salary: Starting at $32.00 per hour, with potential increases based on experience.
