VHS is looking for a qualified Respiratory Therapist for Permanent, Employed position in Waconia, MN and Chaska, MN!

Job Functions:
1. Provides and monitors the therapeutic administration of medical oxygen, aerosols, humidification and respiratory medications.
2. Applies and monitors non-invasive and invasive mechanical ventilatory support.
3. Assists with cardiopulmonary resuscitation, maintenance of natural airways, and insertion and maintenance of artificial airways.
4. Obtains physiological specimens and interprets physiological data.
5. Suggests alternative therapies, alterations in therapy and changes in frequency of therapy to the physician when
appropriate.
6. Instructs patients and their families in techniques for the prevention, alleviation and rehabilitation of diseases associated
with the respiratory system.
7. Anticipates the patient’s respiratory needs post discharge and facilitates the transition to home or alternate care site.
8. Documents patient data in accordance with policy and procedure requirements and processes billing.
9. Performs other duties as assigned.

When performing in Chaska, performs the following Pharmacy functions:
1. Monthly outdate checks; returns to Pharmacy.
2. Receives stock; fills AcuDose daily and InstyMeds machine as necessary.

Employment Requirements:

Minimum Education/Work Experience:

Graduate of an AMA accredited Respiratory Care program

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Ability to meet and maintain the necessary background checks as aligned with position functions
Ability to be sensitive to patient’s physical and psychological needs
Ability to meet and maintain the necessary background checks as aligned with position functions
Attention to detail
Knowledge of RT equipment
Ability to work in a team
Ability to communicate in the English language for effective written and verbal correspondence in order to complete job functions as mentioned above

License/Certifications

Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
Licensed as a Respiratory Therapist by the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice
Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification

Preferred Qualifications

Open to new graduates, 1 year of experience preferred

Pay Range

$36.92 - $50.92 Depending on years of experience
