Key Responsibilities: - Set up, maintain, and troubleshoot medically prescribed respiratory equipment, ensuring proper functioning and compliance with safety standards.

- Educate patients and caregivers on the proper use and maintenance of ventilators and other DME respiratory devices to promote safety and independence.
- Conduct follow-up assessments on respiratory equipment to ensure optimal performance and patient outcomes.
- Evaluate the effects of respiratory therapy plans by monitoring patient progress, documenting observations, and recommending adjustments as needed.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate discharge planning and integrate respiratory care into overall treatment plans.
- Accurately document all patient interactions and services provided in electronic health records, maintaining thorough and compliant records.
- Maintain a safe and clean clinical environment by adhering to infection control policies, safety procedures, and OSHA regulations.
- Perform preventive maintenance on respiratory equipment, troubleshoot malfunctions, and coordinate repairs to ensure continuous, reliable operation.
- Stay current with advancements in respiratory therapy through ongoing education, participation in workshops, and professional networking.
- Provide training and mentorship to respiratory therapy staff, enhancing team skills and knowledge.
- Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory, and certification standards, proactively monitoring changes in legislation and updating practices accordingly.
- Contribute to a collaborative team environment by assisting colleagues and participating in department initiatives.
Qualifications: - A minimum of a 2-year college degree in Respiratory Therapy or a related field.
- Valid driver’s license issued in the applicant’s state of residence.
- Proven DME experience, particularly with ventilators and respiratory equipment.
- Strong bedside manner and excellent physiological knowledge.
- Proficiency in infection control, patient education, and healthcare safety protocols.
- Effective verbal communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Sound judgment, procedural proficiency, and strong interpersonal skills.
