Pay: $77(1099).

Location: Long Beach Veterans Affairs Healthcare System (LBVAHCS) 5901 E. 7th Street Long Beach, CA 90822

Schedule:

MRI: Weekday & Weekend Coverage (including holidays)

Day: 6:30am – 5:00pm
Day: 8:00am-6:30pm
Evening: 12:00pm – 10:30pm
Night: 10:15pm – 6:45am

Qualifications:

Minimum 6 months of experience for contract staff who have specific experience or trained on an MRI equipment similar to VALBHS MRI scanner (1.5T or 3.0T Client MRI scanner), or minimum of one (1) year of current work experience in MRI modality if contract staff do not have Client MRI scanner experience.
Hold a current valid American Registry of Radiologic Technologist ARRT (R) and Advanced ARRT in MRI (MR) certification for MRI modality.
Have demonstrated experience starting Intravenous (IV) and contrast injections. IV certification is preferred but not required.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
Picture Achieving & Communication Systems (PACS) work experience; however, AGFA PACS experience is preferred but not required.

Duties:Shall be responsible for, but is not limited to:

Independently operate Magnetic Resonance Imaging equipment to perform a variety of complex MRI imaging exams and practices MRI safety.
Shall receive patients, explain method of procedure(s), position patients, select and set technical parameters, set up and adjust accessory equipment for imaging.
Operate a super conductive MRI equipment, a highly complex computerized imaging device which employs the use of strong magnetic fields and radio waves to acquire images of the entire body, including the brain, neck, spine, chest, body, and extremities.
Shall be subject to the same quality assurance standards in meeting or exceeding current recognized national standards.
Shall set up MRI suites assuring that sterile supplies, contrast materials, catheters, and other required equipment and supplies are present and available.
Prepare and administer contrast material intravenously under close supervision of radiologist(s), but not independently as required. Contract personnel will also perform related clerical duties such as sending images to the Picture Archiving and Communication System, archiving images, post processing images, and case editing of computer requests and reports.
