Occupational Therapist School Setting in Laurel, MD

Step into a meaningful and dynamic role supporting students in a well-structured school environment near Laurel, MD. This contract opportunity welcomes both Occupational Therapists (OTs) and Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) who are passionate about making a real impact with K-12 learners, primarily serving an autistic population. The setting operates year-round, offering a consistent and engaging experience.

This position is full-time onsite, but skilled part-time professionals will also be considered if able to work Thursdays and Fridays. The school values firsthand connections, so onsite interviews are required—giving you the opportunity to experience the environment and meet the students before joining.

Key Qualifications:

Licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
Experience in a school-based setting strongly preferred
Comfortable working with K-12 students, particularly those on the autism spectrum
Excellent collaboration and communication skills
Willingness to participate in an onsite interview

Responsibilities:

Deliver direct therapy and support for students with diverse needs, focusing on functional skills and strategies for classroom participation
Collaborate with teachers and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized plans
Track student progress through assessment, documentation, and regular team meetings
Participate in ongoing professional development and school-wide initiatives
Contribute to an inclusive and positive learning environment
