What You’ll Do in This Role
As a School-Based Occupational Therapist, you will support students across K–12 grade levels in developing the skills needed to succeed in the classroom and beyond. You will assess student needs and create individualized treatment plans focused on fine motor development, sensory integration, self-regulation, and functional life skills. Working collaboratively with teachers, special education teams, and families, you will implement strategies and accommodations that promote independence and access to learning. You will also track progress toward IEP goals, maintain documentation, and participate in team meetings to ensure students receive comprehensive support. Your role is essential in helping students build the confidence and abilities needed for long-term success.
Required Qualifications — Kansas
To be considered for this role, applicants must:
- Hold a Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
- Possess a current Kansas Occupational Therapist license (or eligibility to obtain)
- Hold NBCOT certification (or be eligible)
- Meet all Kansas Department of Education and district background clearance requirements
