Typical responsibilities include assessing patients with respiratory compromise, delivering therapeutic interventions such as oxygen therapy and aerosolized medications, performing chest physiotherapy, and managing non-invasive and invasive ventilation in accordance with established protocols. You will collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and other allied health professionals, participating in interdisciplinary rounds and contributing to individualized care plans.A typical day may include responding to respiratory-related rapid assessments, initiating and adjusting ventilator settings, monitoring arterial blood gases, and providing education to patients and families on respiratory conditions and equipment use. Depending on assignment, you may support care in intensive care units, medical-surgical floors, emergency departments, or step-down units, with the opportunity to gain exposure to a broad range of medical and surgical diagnoses. Patient assignments are structured to support safe, high-quality care while allowing time for careful assessment, documentation, and collaboration with the care team.The facility offers a modern clinical environment with up-to-date respiratory care equipment and access to advanced monitoring and diagnostic tools. Respiratory therapists are valued as integral members of the care team and are encouraged to participate in protocol development, quality initiatives, and ongoing education.
