What You Will Do:
- Deliver precise radiation therapy treatments in adult acute care settings.
- Utilize advanced imaging and treatment planning systems, including CT Simulation, MRI, PET Scan, Pinnacle, and Eclipse.
- Perform tumor localization, beam modifying/positioning, dose calculation, and treatment simulation.
- Operate Varian linacs, True Beam, and Siemens CT simulators across two Wilmington-area clinics.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, adhering to radiation safety protocols and isolation precautions.
- Work within a ratio of 1:5, ensuring quality care and patient safety.
- Be adaptable to shift schedules, including 5x8-hour shifts (08:00 - 17:00) or 4x10-hour shifts (07:00 - 17:30), based on clinic needs.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience as a Radiation Therapist.
- Proficiency in adult acute care, external beam therapy, IMRT, and treatment site simulation.
- Certification in BLS; valid ARRT T certification required.
- Experience with Varian systems (21 ex/ix), Philips Pinnacle, Eclipse, ARIA, and associated imaging modalities.
- Knowledge of radiation safety protocols, use of lift/transfer devices, and treatment planning software.
- Ability to work independently and in team settings; excellent communication skills.
Additional Skills that Are a Plus:
- Previous experience with CT Simulation, Custom Molds, Custom Shields, and tumor localization techniques.
- Experience working in fast-paced clinical environments and handling complex treatment plans.
- Ability to float between clinics and adapt to different treatment sites confidently.
Educational and Experience Preferences:
- A minimum of 2 years of hands-on radiation therapy experience.
- First-time traveler acceptance is negotiable.
- Local candidates are encouraged to apply; the role is open for 13-week durations with the possibility of extension.
Other Requirements:
- Valid certification in BLS and ARRT T.
- Willingness to work scheduled weekends and participate in storm or hurricane response teams.
- No travel or additional certifications required beyond existing qualifications.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Hourly Pay Rate: $57.27
- Shift Length: 10 hours (flexible between 8 or 10-hour shifts)
