Position Summary:
SUNY Upstate Medical University is seeking a qualified Radiologic Technologist – CT
to perform diagnostic imaging procedures under the direction of departmental
radiologists.
The Radiologic Technologist is responsible for performing radiographic and CT
examinations to support physician diagnosis and patient care. This includes greeting
and preparing patients, explaining procedures, positioning patients appropriately, and
selecting optimal imaging techniques to ensure high-quality diagnostic studies. The
technologist will maintain strict adherence to radiation safety protocols to minimize
patient exposure while ensuring accurate imaging results.
In this role, the technologist must demonstrate strong technical proficiency in operating
imaging equipment, ensuring efficient performance, and promptly reporting any
equipment malfunctions to supervisory staff. Responsibilities also include processing
imaging data and entering accurate information into the Radiology Information System
(RIS) to support documentation and billing functions.
The technologist is expected to follow all departmental policies, procedures, and clinical
protocols while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards. This position requires
the ability to work collaboratively with radiologists and healthcare teams to deliver high-
quality radiologic services aligned with the needs of referring physicians.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform CT and radiologic imaging procedures as ordered by physicians
- Prepare and position patients to ensure accurate diagnostic results
- Operate CT imaging equipment and maintain image quality standards- Maintain strict adherence to radiation safety protocols
- Document procedures within the Radiology Information System (RIS)
- Monitor equipment functionality and report issues promptly
- Follow departmental protocols and clinical procedures
- Collaborate with radiologists and healthcare staff to support patient care
Qualifications:
- Associate’s Degree (A.A.S.) in Radiologic Technology or equivalent
- Current New York State Radiologic Technologist license/registration
required
- Minimum 1 year of CT/MRI experience as a radiologic technologist
- Strong knowledge of imaging equipment, CT procedures, and patient care
practices
- Must successfully pass pre-employment health clearance

- Start Date: June 29, 2026
- End Date: October 2, 2026
- Openings: 1
- Shift: Evenings
- Schedule: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM
- Weekend/Holiday Requirement: Rotational weekends and holidays
