You will be part of a collaborative, interdisciplinary team that values open communication, mutual respect, and shared commitment to high-quality patient outcomes.In this dual-setting role, you will split your time between inpatient/swing-bed services and the outpatient therapy department. On the inpatient side, you can expect to work with patients recovering from medical hospitalizations, surgeries, and a variety of acute or subacute conditions. Caseload commonly includes post-operative orthopedic procedures, generalized deconditioning, balance and gait impairment, and neurologic diagnoses. You will provide comprehensive evaluations, develop individualized plans of care, coordinate closely with nursing and physicians, and contribute to discharge planning to help patients transition safely home or to the next level of care.Within the outpatient setting, you will manage a diverse caseload that may include orthopedic and sports-related injuries, post-surgical rehabilitation, chronic pain, work-related injuries, and balance or vestibular conditions. A typical day may involve scheduled one-on-one treatment sessions, progress assessments, regular communication with referring providers, and patient education focused on injury prevention and long-term wellness. The outpatient clinic emphasizes evidence-based practice, functional outcomes, and personalized care, allowing you to use a broad range of manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, and functional training techniques.Patient volumes are structured to promote thorough assessments and individualized care. Inpatient caseloads are designed to be manageable and efficient, often coordinated closely with occupational and speech therapy. Outpatient schedules are typically arranged in standard weekday hours with a predictable flow, and may include occasional extended hours based on community needs. The hospitals size and culture support close working relationships between rehabilitation, nursing, and medical staff, fostering a supportive and team-oriented atmosphere.This role is ideal for a Physical Therapist who enjoys variety, appreciates the balance of inpatient and outpatient work, and values practicing in a smaller community where patients and families know their caregivers by name.
