This Speech-Language Pathologist opportunity is a 13-week Temp Direct assignment in a Skilled Nursing Facility located in Laurinburg, North Carolina. This full-time role offers a stable weekly schedule of 5 day shifts, 8 hours per day, for an expected 40 hours per week. The position follows a weekly billing and pay cycle and is designed for an SLP who is ready to step into an active caseload in a supportive post-acute environment.Laurinburg is a welcoming small-town community in southeastern North Carolina with a relaxed pace of life and easy access to larger regional hubs. Its location allows convenient driving access to other parts of North Carolina for weekend day trips and exploration, including historic sites, outdoor activities, and scenic drives.The Skilled Nursing Facility provides post-acute and long-term care services to adult and geriatric residents with a range of medical and rehabilitation needs. As the SLP, you will primarily serve patients with communication, cognitive, and swallowing disorders related to conditions such as stroke, neurological diseases, cardiopulmonary issues, deconditioning, and other complex medical diagnoses. You will be part of a rehabilitation team that may include physical therapy, occupational therapy, nursing, social services, and other allied health professionals, offering the chance to collaborate closely on patient-centered care plans.Your typical day will involve conducting evaluations, developing individualized treatment plans, and delivering evidence-based therapy interventions focused on improving or maintaining functional communication, cognitive abilities, and safe swallowing. You will complete timely and accurate documentation in the facilitys EMR system, participate in care conferences, and communicate regularly with the interdisciplinary team to adjust treatment goals as patients progress. Depending on census and facility needs, you may see a mix of short-stay rehab patients and long-term care residents, allowing you to expand your skills across post-acute and chronic care settings.This assignment can be a strong resume builder for SLPs seeking to deepen their experience in skilled nursing and post-acute rehabilitation.
