Job Summary and Qualifications
Individual performs diagnostic ultrasound and NIVA procedures, operates ultrasound equipment, and prepares the room with the necessary equipment and supplies for the procedure. Positively reflects concern and consideration when interacting with patients, medical staff, physicians, and other hospital personnel supporting the Mission, Vision, and Values of the company. Is able to provide care to his/her assigned patients and assures a safe patient care environment.Maintains technical skills and is responsible for using equipment to minimize hazards and maximize patient safety.Secondary duties include clerical duties, receptionist, answering phones, scheduling patients, ordering supplies, stocking the department, maintainingfiles and general cleaning. Assists in collecting data for PI monitors and conducting QC on equipment.
- Current ARDMS certification with both Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) and Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) certificationrequired. Current BLS Certification through American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Graduate of an accredited medical radiography program
- Clinical rotation or 1 year of clinical experience
- Familiar with the majority of ultrasound and/or NIVA procedures. High degree of manual, critical thinking skills, and dexterity skills necessary for operation of equipment and patient care.
