MRI Instructor

Position Summary
DSDT College is seeking a knowledgeable and student-focused MRI Instructor to educate and prepare students for successful careers as Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Technologists. The instructor is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction, fostering a positive learning environment, evaluating student performance, and ensuring curriculum aligns with industry standards, accreditation requirements, and ARRT competencies. The ideal candidate is passionate about student success and committed to maintaining excellence in healthcare education.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Deliver classroom, laboratory, simulation, and online instruction in accordance with the approved curriculum.
- Prepare lesson plans, instructional materials, presentations, and learning activities that promote student engagement.
- Teach MRI principles including anatomy, physiology, MRI physics, patient care, imaging procedures, safety, pathology, and sectional anatomy.
- Assess student learning through quizzes, examinations, practical evaluations, assignments, and competency assessments.
- Maintain accurate attendance, grades, and student records in the College's Learning Management System and Student Information System.
- Provide academic advising, tutoring, and mentoring to support student success and retention.
- Monitor student progress and communicate concerns to the Program Director.
- Maintain a safe learning environment by enforcing MRI safety standards and infection control procedures.
- Participate in curriculum development, program review, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Assist with accreditation activities, program assessment, and regulatory compliance.
- Participate in faculty meetings, advisory committee meetings, professional development, and institutional events.
- Collaborate with clinical affiliates to ensure students meet required clinical competencies.
- Maintain confidentiality of student information in accordance with institutional policies and applicable regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Director or Academic Dean.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate degree or higher in Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Radiologic Technology, or a related healthcare field (Bachelor's degree preferred).
- Current ARRT certification in Radiography [R] and Magnetic Resonance [MR], or ARMRIT certification, in good standing.
- Minimum of three (3) years of recent clinical MRI experience.
- Current CPR/BLS certification.
- Strong knowledge of MRI safety standards, imaging protocols, patient care, and sectional anatomy.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and learning management systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior teaching or clinical education experience in a postsecondary institution or healthcare setting.
- Experience with online or hybrid instruction.
- Familiarity with accreditation standards and outcomes assessment.
- Experience using simulation technology and educational software.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and instruct for extended periods.
- Ability to demonstrate laboratory procedures and safely operate instructional equipment.
- Ability to lift instructional materials or equipment up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to travel to clinical sites and attend meetings as needed.
Working Conditions
Work is performed in classrooms, laboratories, simulation environments, and clinical education settings. Evening or weekend teaching assignments may be required based on program needs.
