The Department of Global Pediatric Medicine at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is recruiting faculty members at the Assistant level to expand our department’s efforts in population sciences research and join a growing research program focused on addressing global disparities in catastrophic diseases of childhood. We seek creative and collaborative scientists with specific expertise and experience in the field of qualitative research, implementation sciences, and palliative care as we grow and further expand our mission.
The Department of Global Pediatric Medicine was established in 2016 to address the global challenges in pediatric cancer and catastrophic blood diseases, and to help transform St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital efforts in tackling global disparities in access to, and quality of, care into a more effective and efficient initiative (St. Jude Global). As an academic entity, the Department of Global Pediatric Medicine focuses on global health research and innovation through an expanding portfolio of research methods and disciplines, including medical education and leadership development, qualitative and mixed methods research, quality and implementation sciences, population sciences, and guideline development and resource-adapted interventions. St. Jude Global is an institutional initiative led and operated by the Department of Global Pediatric Medicine; it focuses on global implementation through capacity building and education, development of a global clinical research infrastructure, advocacy and resource mobilization, and engagement with governments and global agencies. St. Jude Global works through the St. Jude Global Alliance, our implementation network and an ecosystem created through partnerships with providers, medical institutions, policymakers, and advocates. In addition, St. Jude Global is a WHO Collaborating Centre for Childhood Cancer and an implementation partner for the Global Initiative for Childhood Cancer and have structured collaboration agreements with other global agencies such as PAHO, UNICEF, IAEA, and IARC.
The Department of Global Pediatric Medicine works very closely with the St. Jude Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences on a Master of Science Degree in Global Child Health, and with the St. Jude Comprehensive Cancer Center in the development of a clinical and translational research structure to facilitate and support the global research programs and international collaborations initiated by St. Jude faculty.

Successful applicants must hold a PhD or equivalent degree, have at least three years of relevant postgraduate experience, and have a proven track record of research productivity as evidenced through grant funding and peer-reviewed publications.
