What You’ll Do:
- Provide high-quality respiratory therapy services at multiple campuses within a 20-25 minute driving radius.
- Support care for patients with complex conditions such as COPD, CHF, pneumonia, COVID-19, ARDS, lung cancer, stroke, and post-operative cases including transplant and head/neck surgeries requiring tracheostomy.
- Attend high-risk deliveries and support NICU/PICU, including neonatal intubation and airway management.
- Administer inhaled medications, manage ventilators, perform ABG analysis, support code blue and rapid response situations, and operate advanced equipment such as Servo U, Trilogy, Vapotherm, and NICU oscillators.
- Collaborate with a dedicated team including supervisors, educators, and department leaders to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Required Skills:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in respiratory therapy with comfort in high-risk deliveries and neonatal/PICU care.
- Proven proficiency in airway management, ventilator operation, ABG analysis, and neonatal intubation if necessary.
- Ability to quickly adapt to different clinical environments and equipment.
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
- Valid Louisiana State Licensure and a current driver’s license for traveling between campuses.
- NBRC national accreditation; RRT or CRT credential highly preferred.
Nice to Have Skills:
- Advanced life support certifications such as ACLS, PALS, and NRP.
- Experience with ECMO or extra-corporeal support systems.
- Familiarity with Meditech Expanse charting system.
- Previous experience supporting high-risk deliveries and neonatal resuscitation.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- An Associate’s degree or higher in Respiratory Therapy or a related field.
- Recent bedside experience in an acute care setting, specifically in NICU, PICU, or adult ICU environments.
- Demonstrated ability to perform neonatal intubation and manage complex ventilator cases.
Other Requirements:
- Current BLS and NRP certifications; ACLS and PALS preferred.
- Willingness to float across all four campuses and assist with transport duties as needed.
- Flexible scheduling, including 36/48-hour rotations, weekends every other week, and call shifts (ground or air transport).
- Comfortable working in high-stakes situations and supporting high-risk neonates and adults.
- Positive attitude, adaptability, and commitment to high-quality patient care.
