Vassar Brothers Medical Center, located in Poughkeepsie, New York, just 75 minutes north of New York City, is seeking an academically-oriented Hematologist (both classical and malignant hematology). This position will focus on treating patients with hematologic malignancies but will also oversee evaluation of treatment of patients with classical hematology conditions, with advanced practitioner support. Our Cancer Institute is growing rapidly as we are expanding our clinical trial portfolio and positioning ourselves to be a destination cancer program in this region. The ideal candidate will be board certified/eligible in hematology and have post-fellowship experience and/or hematology focused training.

***$50,000 Sign on bonus/retention package plus relocation allowance is available for full time candidates.***

Vassar Brothers Medical Center provides our hospital systems and multi-specialty practice with tertiary oncology services and is accredited by The American College of Surgeons as a Comprehensive Community Cancer Program. Vassar has many of the key elements of a comprehensive oncology service line in place, including state-of-the-art radiation oncology and Surgical specialty services in Breast, Thoracic, Gastrointestinal, Gynecologic, Genitourinary Oncology and Hepatobiliary Surgery. Nurse navigation, Genetic counseling and screening are available onsite. There is ample opportunity to pursue research and clinical trials.

Located on the banks of the scenic Hudson River, Vassar Brothers Medical Center has a new 752,000 square-foot, eight-level inpatient pavilion with 263 private medical/surgical patient rooms and 30 critical care rooms. Vassar provides the leading acute and critical emergency care in the region, including Level II Trauma Service and Interventional Neuroradiology. Vassar has established centers of excellence in cardiac services, neurosciences, cancer care, and women’s health. Vassar is consistently ranked as one of the strongest cardiac programs in the United States and one of the Top 100 Heart Hospitals by Modern HealthCare Magazine.

Compensation: $400,000-$600,000/ per year relative to experience and position.
