This is a school-based Travel Occupational Therapist opportunity in a welcoming K12 public school setting located in Bennettsville, South Carolina. As the OT for this assignment, you will support students functional participation in the school day while enjoying the charm and character of a historic Southern community.Bennettsville is nestled in the Pee Dee region of northeastern South Carolina, an area known for its rich history, tree-lined streets, and relaxed pace of life. This assignment is ideal for an OT interested in strengthening or expanding their school-based and pediatric experience while working with a broad range of ages and needs.This position is a full-time role with an expected 37.5 hours per week. The schedule follows a traditional Monday through Friday school-day format. Candidates will only be paid for hours actually worked; there is no pay for school holidays, scheduled school closures (such as teacher workdays), or closures due to inclement weather. The calendar follows a typical school-year rhythm, allowing you to enjoy built-in school breaks and an organized, predictable weekly routine.You will be working with a K12 caseload, providing services across elementary, middle, and high school settings as assigned. Your typical day may include:Conducting OT evaluations to assess students fine motor, visual-motor, sensory processing, and functional school skills Developing and implementing individualized treatment plans aligned with educational goals Delivering direct and consultative therapy services in classrooms, therapy rooms, and other school environments Collaborating with teachers, special educators, speech therapists, physical therapists, and support staff to integrate OT strategies into the classroom Participating in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions to support student progress and goal development Documenting services, progress notes, and assessments in a timely and accurate manner in accordance with district procedures Providing recommendations for classroom accommodations, equipment, and task modifications to maximize student independence Educating staff and families on strategies to support students functional performance in the school settingThe caseload will consist of students with a variety of needs, such as developmental delays, autism spectrum disorders, fine motor and handwriting challenges, sensory processing differences, and other conditions that affect participation in school routines.
