Position Overview:As a Respiratory Therapist in home care, you will conduct comprehensive in-home patient assessments, provide clinical education on respiratory equipment, and adjust ventilator settings following physician orders. Your expertise will ensure the proper functioning of advanced respiratory devices, troubleshoot equipment issues, and deliver ongoing support through phone follow-ups. This role involves travel using your personal vehicle (mileage compensated), with some on-call responsibilities for ventilator troubleshooting, scheduled Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Key Responsibilities: - Perform in-home respiratory assessments and evaluations.
- Educate patients and caregivers on the proper use of respiratory equipment, including ventilators, oxygen therapy devices, and sleep apnea apparatus.
- Adjust ventilator and respiratory device settings in accordance with physician instructions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to respiratory equipment efficiently.
- Provide ongoing support through phone consultations and follow-ups.
- Document patient interactions accurately and maintain compliance with all safety and infection control protocols.
Required Qualifications: - Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) license.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Willingness to obtain licensure in neighboring states if necessary.
Preferred Qualifications: - Experience in home respiratory care or home healthcare settings.
- Completion of an accredited respiratory care program.
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant clinical experience.
- Familiarity with ventilator management, oxygen therapy, sleep apnea treatment, or wound care.
Additional Requirements: - Ability to travel within assigned service areas.
- Compliance with respiratory protection protocols, including N95 mask fit testing.
Compensation and Benefits: - Hourly rate ranging from $33 to $36, commensurate with experience.
- Bonus opportunities, including a $4,000 sign-on bonus ($2,000 after 60 days and $2,000 after 180 days).
