This onsite school-based Physical Therapist opportunity is located in beautiful Vero Beach, Florida, a coastal community along the Atlantic known for its relaxed, small-city feel, uncrowded beaches, and vibrant arts and cultural scene. Vero Beach offers year-round sunshine, easy access to the ocean and Intracoastal Waterway, and abundant outdoor activities including walking and biking trails, water sports, golf, and nature preserves. The community is known for strong neighborhood ties, a family-friendly environment, and a pace of life that balances professional fulfillment with time to enjoy the Florida coast.In this role, you will work onsite Monday through Friday, for approximately 37.5 hours per week, following a traditional school-year schedule. The position is designed for a Physical Therapist who is passionate about helping children achieve greater independence and participation in their school environment. You will be part of a supportive educational community focused on helping each student reach their full potential.Your primary responsibilities will include providing physical therapy services to students with a variety of needs, from mild motor delays to more complex physical and developmental challenges. You will perform comprehensive evaluations, develop individualized treatment plans, and deliver direct and consultative services within the school setting. Treatment may involve gross motor skills development, mobility training, balance and coordination activities, postural control, equipment and positioning recommendations, and strategies to support safe participation in school routines.You will collaborate daily with teachers, school staff, related service providers, and families to integrate therapy goals into the educational environment. Participation in team meetings, goal setting, and progress reporting is an important part of the role. You can expect a varied caseload and the opportunity to work with different age groups, depending on specific school assignments. Typical school-based caseloads involve seeing students individually and in small groups, scheduling sessions around classroom instruction, and providing guidance to staff on implementing therapeutic strategies throughout the day.The working environment is structured, predictable, and conducive to developing meaningful relationships with students over time. Because the position is based in an educational setting, you will enjoy a consistent weekday schedule, no nights, and no weekend shifts, allowing for a strong worklife balance. Documentation time is generally built into the school day, and you will have opportunities to coordinate with other professionals on campus.Vero Beach itself adds to the appeal of this position.
