Fillmore offers a charming, close-knit community feel with a classic downtown, friendly neighborhoods, and scenic views of surrounding citrus and avocado groves. Professionals who prefer a quieter, more relaxed lifestyle with easy access to Southern California highlights will appreciate Fillmores location: you are within driving distance of Venturas beaches, the Santa Clarita and San Fernando Valleys, and the greater Los Angeles region, while still enjoying a calmer, small-town atmosphere.Fillmore is known for its historic downtown and scenic railway, offering a unique local charm with antique shops, local eateries, and seasonal events that bring the community together. Outdoor enthusiasts will find nearby hiking trails, parks, and opportunities for weekend exploration in Ventura County and the neighboring coastal areas. The communitys family-centered environment and strong sense of local pride can make this assignment especially appealing for educators and therapists who enjoy building long-term, meaningful connections. In this role, you will work on-site within a public school district setting, supporting a K12 caseload. You will provide services to students across grade levels, from kindergarten through high school, giving you the opportunity to work with a broad range of communication disorders and developmental profiles. Your responsibilities will include conducting comprehensive speech and language assessments, developing and implementing individualized treatment plans, and maintaining compliance with all applicable education and special education regulations.Daily responsibilities typically include evaluating students referred for speech and language concerns, developing IEP goals, providing direct therapy in both individual and group formats, and monitoring and documenting student progress. You will participate in IEP meetings, collaborate with teachers and school staff on classroom strategies, consult with families, and contribute to a supportive, multidisciplinary approach for each student. You can expect to work closely with special education teams, school psychologists, occupational therapists, and other related service providers to ensure coordinated, student-centered care. The anticipated schedule is full-time during the school year, with approximately 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday. This is an on-site position; teletherapy options are not available. The schedule follows the school day and school calendar, with non-working days aligned to school holidays, breaks, and any non-student days as designated by the district. Hours are paid for time worked; school holidays, breaks, and closures are not paid days. This position is well-suited for an SLP who values a stable, longer-term school assignment with the chance to follow students progress over time.
