What You’ll Do:
- Provide advanced respiratory care to adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients, including ventilator management, airway procedures, and aerosolized medication delivery.
- Conduct patient assessments, develop and implement personalized respiratory care plans.
- Respond confidently to emergencies such as Code Blue and White; manage airway devices and support respiratory functions.
- Perform diagnostic procedures including blood gas analysis, ECG interpretation, and chest film review.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and may assume leadership roles such as Shift Leader or Team Leader.
- Participate in quality assurance activities and support hospital surveys to uphold high standards of care.
- Utilize clinical skills for advanced practices like Pulmonary Function Testing, Bronchoscopy assist, and Polysomnography.
Required Skills:
- Valid RT or RCP license in New Mexico.
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from NBRC.
- BLS certification (AHA only).
- 1-3 years of relevant experience preferred.
- Proficiency in airway management, ventilator setup, and administering respiratory therapy procedures.
- Strong documentation skills and ability to work under minimal supervision.
- Critical thinking, excellent communication, and teamwork abilities.
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience with therapeutic gas management, Hemodynamic Monitoring, and waveform analysis.
- Familiarity with nocturnal SpO2 evaluation and transport duties.
- Previous experience in a hospital setting with proficiency in emergency response protocols.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Associates or bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy or a related field.
- 1-3 years of clinical experience in acute care settings.
Other Requirements:
- Availability for 12-hour night shifts (7 PM – 7 AM).
- Ability to travel and work in diverse hospital environments.
- Commitment to ongoing certification renewal and professional development.
