Here is some of what you can expect from being an Advanced Clinical Oncology Pharmacist with us:
- You will be responsible for coordinating chemotherapy activities and supervising support personnel in the immediate assigned area.
- You will serve as a patient advocate when planning and implementing pharmaceutical care. By considering the patient’s disease state(s), age, lab values, and other pertinent information, the specialist evaluates medication orders and intervenes when appropriate.
- You will collaborate with other healthcare professionals and represent pharmacy in a knowledgeable and professional manner.
- You will strive to advance personal and departmental pharmaceutical knowledge.
- You will stay current on literature related to pharmacy and oncology practice and may engage others in learning through staff in-servicing and other education as needed.
- You will be an active member of hospital committees as determined by hospital leadership.
Qualifications you will need for this role:
- Registered Pharmacist in the State of Colorado.
- BCOP certification preferred.
- BCLS/ACLS required through AHA or ARC.
- B.S. or Pharm D. degree in Pharmacy. Graduate of an accredited residency program preferred
- Minimum of three years’ clinical experience required. Previous oncology experience preferred; previous management/project management experience preferred.
- Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of the practice of pharmacy.
- Demonstrates the ability to plan, provide, and monitor the delivery of pharmaceutical services. Is a subject matter expert in oncology.
