Position Overview
As a Radiologic Technologist, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and quality care throughout the imaging process. This role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and adherence to established imaging protocols and radiation safety standards.
Responsibilities
• Perform diagnostic radiographic procedures according to physician orders and clinical protocols
• Conduct routine and specialized imaging examinations including X-ray, MRI, and CT procedures as assigned
• Perform bone density examinations (DEXA scans) to assist in the assessment and diagnosis of osteoporosis and other bone health conditions
• Prepare patients for imaging procedures by explaining examinations, answering questions, and ensuring patient comfort
• Accurately position patients and operate imaging equipment to obtain high-quality diagnostic images
• Minimize patient radiation exposure while maintaining optimal image quality
• Maintain accurate patient records, imaging documentation, and procedure details
• Adhere to radiation safety standards, infection control practices, and departmental policies
• Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and healthcare team members to support quality patient care
• Perform routine equipment checks, quality control procedures, and report equipment concerns as necessary
Requirements
• Current New York State ARRT (R) License and Registration required
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required
• Minimum of 1 year of Radiologic Technologist experience required
• Strong knowledge of diagnostic imaging procedures and radiographic techniques
• Understanding of radiation safety principles and patient protection standards
• Excellent communication and patient care skills
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work in fast-paced clinical environments
• Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams
