This is a 13-week Temp Direct outpatient Physical Therapist opportunity based in the coastal city of Norfolk, Virginia, with an ASAP start. The role offers a structured weekly schedule of 5 eight-hour day shifts, for an expected 40 hours per week, making it ideal for clinicians who prefer consistent daytime work and predictable routines.Norfolk is a dynamic harbor city in the Hampton Roads region, known for its beautiful waterfront, historic neighborhoods, and easy access to beaches and outdoor recreation. The city showcases a rich arts and culture scene, including the Chrysler Museum of Art, the Virginia Arts Festival, and a variety of live music and theater venues. With the Elizabeth River and nearby Chesapeake Bay, Norfolk offers ample opportunities for boating, kayaking, and waterfront dining. Its revitalized downtown features local restaurants, coffee shops, breweries, and year-round events that appeal to both locals and travelers. The areas central location also provides convenient access to neighboring communities and coastal destinations, adding variety and exploration opportunities during your time off.In this outpatient role, you will primarily manage a general orthopedic caseload with a particular emphasis on patellofemoral (PF) conditions. Patients may include individuals recovering from sports injuries, post-surgical cases, chronic musculoskeletal conditions, and active adults focused on function and performance. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include comprehensive evaluations, individualized plan-of-care development, manual therapy and therapeutic exercise interventions, neuromuscular re-education, functional and gait training, and clear patient education. You will also collaborate with referring providers and other team members to ensure coordinated, evidence-based care.A typical day may include a steady mix of evaluations and follow-up visits, with scheduling designed to support both productivity and high-quality patient interaction. Patient volumes will be appropriate for a busy outpatient setting, and you will be expected to manage your schedule efficiently while maintaining thorough documentation in the facilitys EMR system. The clinical environment is geared toward orthopedic and PF-focused care, allowing you to strengthen your skills in assessment and treatment of knee pathologies and related functional impairments.This assignment suits a Physical Therapist who is confident working in outpatient orthopedics, enjoys a variety of musculoskeletal cases, and wants to further refine PF expertise.
