Physical Therapy Assistant
Schedule: MondayFriday, 8:00 a.m.4:30 p.m.
Sign-On Bonus: $10,000 with a two-year service commitment
Position Overview
Join a Magnet-recognized, nonprofit regional health system serving patients throughout north-central Arkansas and south-central Missouri. This full-time Physical Therapist Assistant position is based at a 268-bed acute care hospital that supports a 13-county service area.
The PTA will work closely with licensed Physical Therapists and the interdisciplinary care team to deliver individualized rehabilitation services to hospitalized patients. This position offers a structured weekday schedule, dedicated documentation time, and the stability of a well-established health system.
Position Highlights
- MondayFriday schedule from 8:00 a.m.4:30 p.m.
- Approximately 6.5 hours of patient treatment and 1.5 hours of dedicated documentation time each day
- Christmas and Thanksgiving off
- Time-and-a-half compensation for other scheduled holidays

Responsibilities
- Provide therapeutic interventions under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist
- Carry out established plans of care for patients in an acute inpatient setting
- Assist patients with mobility, transfers, gait training, therapeutic exercise, balance, strength, and functional activities
- Monitor patient progress and communicate changes in condition or response to treatment
- Educate patients and caregivers regarding mobility, safety, home exercises, and discharge recommendations
- Coordinate care with Physical Therapists, nursing staff, physicians, case management, and other rehabilitation professionals
- Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Follow hospital safety, infection prevention, regulatory, and patient-care standards
- Support safe discharge planning and continuity of care
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
- Current or eligible Arkansas Physical Therapist Assistant license
- Current Basic Life Support certification or ability to obtain upon hire
- Strong clinical judgment, communication, and documentation skills
- Ability to work effectively with medically complex and hospitalized patients
- Ability to collaborate within an interdisciplinary healthcare team
- Acute care or hospital-based experience is preferred but not required
