Responsibilities.Provides speech-language services to designated children with speech and language delays and disorders.Conduct assessments and evaluations of students needs.Develop and implement IEPs for students.Collect data on progress.Evaluate effectiveness of intervention by reviewing data.Collaborate with special educators and regular education teachers in the development and implementation of programs and materials for our students.Maintain records and produce written and verbal reports.Requirements.Masters Degree in Communication Disorders, CFY supervision is available.Eligible for a Vermont SLP licensure.An understanding of the IDEA and Vermonts IEP process.Ability to work with teams.About the School.Founded in 2005, the New School of Montpelier has provided innovative and effective care, education and employment training to some of central Vermonts most challenging and unique learners. The New School of Montpelier believes that students deserve to experience success. Our mission is to provide a welcoming environment that is safe and therapeutic, where effective educational programs and clinical support take place. Our target population is students ages 6-22 with intensive special education needs, who often have complex communication needs as well. We are a year round day program (204 student days) with an average of 21 students, from approximately ten Supervisory Unions.
