Job Summary and ResponsibilitiesAs our Speech Language Pathologist, you will be a vital clinician, expertly assessing, diagnosing, and treating communication and swallowing disorders to significantly improve patient quality of life.
Every day, you will conduct comprehensive evaluations for all referred patients, meticulously implementing individualized treatment plans. You'll contribute clinical expertise to develop/upgrade treatment programs/protocols, and actively shape departmental and organizational goals.
To be successful in this role, you will possess advanced clinical knowledge, exceptional diagnostic/therapeutic skills, and a compassionate, patient-centered approach.
- Applies clinical and professional knowledge and skills to achieve effective results in a manner consistent with the code of ethics and practice. Evaluates, plans and Implements communication and/or swallow treatment programs according to physician referral, and/or plan of care. Designs programs to meet the patient's oral motor/swallowing, speech, and language needs. Applies and shares advanced knowledge of new treatment philosophies and techniques, changes in the practice act or rules, or changes affecting the healthcare industry.
- Promotes and Supports positive and professional customer service, while interacting with clients, guests and hospital personnel. As a member of the Physical Medicine Department, will participate and support customer service initiatives by incorporating ô Caring Beyond Expectations into daily practice.
- Communicates in a positive and professional manner with all members of the Physical Medicine team, and interdepartmentally to maintain open lines of communication. Communicates clearly and concisely, and listens well to customers, coworkers, and other members of the healthcare team, while encouraging directness, honesty, and mutual respect in all professional relationships. Provides positive and constructive feedback to enhance departmental operations. Completes all necessary documentation as outlined by departmental policy and documentation review.
- Coordinates care of patients with other departmental and hospital activities in a manner that fosters a positive professional image consistent with the departmental and hospital goals and mission statement. is also accountable for actively participating in enhancing departmental operations and expanding knowledge base through participation in meetings, taskforces, and committees and via informal suggestions.
- Utilizes available information management systems to support departmental and hospital goals.
